Kawachinagano is a city located between the highway that connects Kyoto and Mount Koya, and it’s a place that features two famous and prosperous temples known as Hinosan Kanshinji temple and Amanosan Kongoji temple. White walls that run along the roads of the streets, the sparkling silver tiles of the roof, the vibrant crimsons, greens and yellows of the pillars; peacefully tucked away within this elegantly beautiful building is the enshrined golden Buddha statue, shining golden in its majestic glory.
The prosperity of these two large temples has led to the construction of Shinto buildings, temples, and Buddhist statues in the municipal area. Also, its position as an important traffic area led to the construction of a mountain castle. This town is a veritable treasure trove of cultural heritages from the Japanese middle ages, and it has been preserved for over a thousand years. The result is that it’s now an area where visitors can experience firsthand the wonders of the middle ages in Japan.
