The Nakakawachi area has an abundance of cultural facilities such as memorial museum connected with authors representative of Japan. How about taking a walk in search of authors and works that you didn’t know of until now?
1. Shiba Ryotaro Memorial Museum
The museum was designed by Tadao Ando as a memorial museum for the author Ryotaro Shiba, and it is built alongside his own house. Highlights include exhibition rooms of his own works and translated books, and a garden where you can view his actual study through windows.

2. The Junzo Miyamoto Toy Museum Omakeya ZUNZO
Junzo Miyamoto was active as a designer of freebie toys at the confectionary manufactuer Glico. On display are many freebie toys that he actually designed, and the local toys and folk crafts from within Japan and overseas that he collected over his lifetime.

3. Street of the Taiheiji District
The Taiheiji District in Kashiwara City has rows of traditional houses on small hill. Beyond the hill road to Kannonji is the unique scenery of vineyards, a specialty in the area.

4. Osaka Shoin Women’s University TANABE SEIKO MUESUM of LITERATURE
Literary museum of the author Seiko Tanabe. The museum is inside Osaka Shoin Women’s University, her alma mater, where around 450 of her works are on display, arranged in order of publication, together with manuscripts from her student days, and a corner where her study has been reproduced.
